DevAgentDesk Try the prototype

A review desk for solo builders & small teams

Review the change.
Keep the evidence.

Turn a Git diff into a readable change inventory, with file and line references you can follow. Keep the final call in your hands.

Working prototype

Your diff. A clearer starting point.

Try the real keyboard shortcut example, or paste your own unified diff. Processing happens in this browser.

DIFF DESK

No code execution. No model requests. No diff uploads.

Change inventory

Rule-based

Loading the public example…

The next step belongs to you.

Confirm the intended behavior, run relevant checks, and review the affected user flow. This inventory does not prove that a change is correct.

Public example: an actual update to this prototype's keyboard controls. Download the source diff · Download the example report

Built around the review

Less searching.
More context.

The change itself is the starting point. DevAgentDesk puts the inventory and evidence beside each other, so the next conversation can begin with something concrete.

01

Select a change

Use a text diff in the browser, or read working-tree and staged changes with the local Python CLI.

02

Inspect the evidence

See additions, removals, hunks, and references to old and new source lines. Nothing gets executed or edited.

03

Take the brief with you

Export Markdown for your own notes or a review discussion. Choose where to share it.

Quickstart

A small tool. An explicit workflow.

Get the Python prototype

Run it locally

Download review_diff.py. Python 3 and Git are needed for repository input. No Python packages or account required.

One-line install (macOS and Linux)
curl -fsSL https://devagentdesk.com/install.sh | bash
Windows PowerShell
Invoke-WebRequest https://devagentdesk.com/review_diff.py -OutFile review_diff.py
Try it on the public example
python review_diff.py --diff example.diff --output review.md
Read a saved diff
python review_diff.py --diff change.diff --output review.md
Read working-tree changes
python review_diff.py --repo /path/to/repo --output review.md
Read staged changes
python review_diff.py --repo /path/to/repo --cached --output review.md

What works today

  • Unified text diff inventory
  • Added and removed line counts
  • File, hunk, and source-line references
  • Local Markdown report export

Current limits

Binary changes, rename-only metadata, and combined merge diffs are outside this prototype. It does not run tests, detect every bug, or modify a repository.

Claude integration plan

Our customers are solo developers and small engineering teams reviewing local code changes. The planned Claude layer will explain a supplied diff, flag possible regression risks, and draft verification questions grounded in the diff and selected source lines. A developer reviews consequential output before acting. Integration is planned and not active: this demo sends nothing to Claude.

About DevAgentDesk

Small teams deserve
a deliberate review.

DevAgentDesk is an early-stage developer-tool project for people working with local codebases. We are starting with a read-only change inventory and building toward review briefs whose claims can be traced to source evidence.

Our approach keeps developers in control of context, verification, and changes. The public prototype lets you evaluate the current workflow before the planned AI review layer arrives.

DevAgentDesk is an independent tool project started in 2026. One focused use case ships first: the local change inventory on this page. The public demo and the single-file Python CLI are available now; there is no hosted service, account system, or waitlist.

A few practical answers.

Does this demo use Claude?

No. The current demo parses text diffs and produces an inventory. A Claude API review layer is planned; no diff is sent to Claude by this version.

Is my code uploaded?

Your pasted diff and selected file are processed in the browser tab. This demo has no diff-upload endpoint, analytics integration, or user account. Use the local Python CLI if you prefer an entirely local workflow.

Is this a replacement for testing or code review?

No. It provides a factual starting point: changed files and source-line evidence. You still need to verify behavior and decide whether a change is suitable.

Do I need to pay or sign up?

No sign-up or payment is required for this prototype. A paid hosted review service has not launched.

Can I run it offline?

Yes. The browser demo works in the tab, and the Python CLI runs fully offline. The CLI calls local Git only when you point it at a repository path. Neither sends data to a model or a server.

Who is behind DevAgentDesk?

An independent developer-tool project started in 2026, focused on one workflow: evidence-first change review for solo developers and small teams.

Privacy notice

Last updated: 9 October 2026.

Pasted diffs and selected files are kept in the current browser tab's memory. They are not sent to a model or an application server, and this demo does not save them to browser storage. Clear removes the input and report from the interface; reloading starts with the public example.

The website hosting service receives ordinary page and asset requests, which can include your IP address, browser information, request time, and requested URL. Hosting providers may retain operational and security logs. This project adds no analytics scripts, advertising cookies, sign-up form, or third-party tracking integration.

Exporting creates a Markdown file on your device. Downloaded local CLI reports stay at the location you choose. The CLI invokes Git only when you supply a repository path; it makes no network or model requests. The planned AI review layer is not covered as an active feature by this notice and will need a separate data-flow explanation before launch.

Prototype terms

This is an early prototype offered without payment or an availability guarantee. Inventory output can be incomplete and is not a certification of correctness or security. Verify outputs against your source and run relevant checks before making decisions.
